Schon in meiner frühen Kindheit war Musik ein zentrales Element meines Lebens. Glücklicherweise haben meine Eltern meine Leidenschaft gefördert und mir Klavier- und später Querflötenunterricht ermöglicht.
Dass Musik mehr als nur ein Hobby ist und ich mich am liebsten beruflich damit beschäftigen möchte, wurde sehr bald klar. Deshalb ist die Wahl für die Oberstufe auf das Musikgymnasium Linz gefallen, wo ich erste musikalische Kontakte knüpfen konnte, die mir bis heute erhalten geblieben sind.
Zeitig nach der Matura schloss ich zunächst mein Querflöten-Studium am damaligen Linzer Bruckner-Konservatorium ab, um dann meine Studien in Wien bei Barbara Gisler weiterzuführen. Dazu kam meine Begeisterung für's Singen, die schon zu Schulzeiten entfacht worden war, und im Studium der Gesangspädagogik (bei Annamaria Rott) und Konzertfach Gesang (Elisabeth Kovacs) weitergeführt werden konnte.
Schon während des Studiums war ich in vielen Chören und Ensembles tätig, u.a. dem Arnold Schönberg Chor, der Konzertvereinigung Wr. Staatsopernchor sowie der Company of Music, der ich bis heute treu geblieben bin.
Nach meinem Studium war ich als Pädagogin in verschiedenen Institutionen tätig und bin als freischaffende Sängerin in Opern- und Oratorienprojekten wie in verschiedenen Ensembles im In- und Ausland aufgetreten.
2013 kam der Umzug nach Deutschland (Hessen) wo ich meine Familie gründete. In dieser Zeit konnte ich mich als Oratoriensängerin "austoben" sowie immer wieder im SWR in Stuttgart Vokalensemble mitwirken. Gleichzeitig habe ich als Pädagogin in zwei Musikschulen gearbeitet.
Wenige Jahre später kam der nächste große Umzug- mit der Geburt unseres zweiten Kindes sind wir nach Kirgistan umgesiedelt, wo wir 2,5 Jahre verbracht haben.
In Bishkek konnte ich einerseits einige Konzerte in der Oper und der Philharmonie verwirklichen, sowie eine Weihnachtskonzertreihe über die deutsche Botschaft und ein internationales Musikfestival, die mich auch in andere Städte der Region geführt haben.
Zudem habe ich dort einen Chor für Expats und Internationals geleitet und an der European School Musik unterrichtet.
Nach der Rückkehr nach Wien in 2019 war es eine zeitlang stiller- die längere Corona Durstrecke ging auch an mir nicht vorüber. Glücklicherweise gab es aber zwischendurch und danach wieder schöne Projekte u.a. mit der Company of Music sowie mit dem CrossNova Ensemble.
Zudem konnte ich ab 2020 zusätzlich zu meiner Tätigkeit an der Musikschule Meidling meine Arbeit als Gesangspädagogin am Salieri-Institut an der MDW Wien aufnehmen.

Even in my early childhood, music was a central element of my life. Fortunately, my parents encouraged my passion and allowed me to having piano and later flute lessons.
It soon became clear that music was more than just a hobby and that I wanted to pursue it as a career. That's why I chose the Musikgymnasium Linz for secondary school, where I was able to make my first musical contacts, which have stayed with me to this day.
Soon after graduating from high school, I first completed my flute studies at the Bruckner Conservatory in Linz and then continued my studies in Vienna with Barbara Gisler. My enthusiasm for singing, which had already been kindled during my school days, was further fuelled by my studies in vocal pedagogy (with Annamaria Rott) and concert singing (Elisabeth Kovacs).
During my studies I was already active in many choirs and ensembles, including the Arnold Schönberg Choir, the Concert Association of the Vienna State Opera Choir and the Company of Music, to which I have remained loyal to this day.
In 2013 I moved to Germany (Hessen) where I started my family. During this time, I was able to work as an oratorio singer and repeatedly participate in the SWR vocal ensemble in Stuttgart. At the same time, I worked as a teacher in two music schools.
A few years later came the next big move - with the birth of our second child, we moved to Kyrgyzstan, where we spent 2.5 years.
In Bishkek, I was part of several concerts in the opera house and the philharmonic orchestra, as well as a Christmas concert series through the German embassy, which also took me to other cities in the region.
I also conducted a choir for internationals there and taught music at the Bishkek International School.
After returning to Vienna in 2019, things were quieter for a while - the long coronavirus lockdown didn't pass me by either. Fortunately, there were some great projects in between and afterwards, especially with the CrossNova Ensemble and the Company of Music under the baton of Johannes Hiemetsberger.
In addition to my work at the Meidling Music School, I started working as a vocal teacher at the Salieri Institute at the MDW Vienna in 2020.
PERFORMING
Auf der Bühne bin ich schon in unterschiedlichsten Formationen gestanden- meine erste "Band" war die Blasmusikkapelle in meinem Heimatort, dort durfte ich schon bei Zeltfesten und Frühlingskonzerten auch als Sängerin in Erscheinung treten.
Zu Beginn meines Studiums waren zunächst Chöre mein erster "Arbeitgeber". Mehrere Sommer lang war ich mit dem Arnold Schönberg Chor sowie der Konzertvereinigung Wr. Staatsopernchor bei den Salzburger Festspielen engagiert.
Später kamen erste Rollen in Opern dazu- wichtige Partien hierbei waren zb. Sesto in G.F. Händels Giulio Cesare sowie Dido in Henry Purcell's Dido & Aeneas.
Auch in zeitgenössischen Musiktheaterproduktionen (u.a. Näherin in Jury Everhartz "Das Krokodil", "Dornröschen erwacht" von Tristan Schulze, "Flickschneiderin" in Brabanzio von Lukas Haselböck, "Vor dem Gesetz" von Markus Kupferblum) bin ich oft aufgetreten.
Im Oratorienbereich habe ich als Alt bzw. Sopran 2- Solistin alle gängigen Messen, Weihnachtsoratorien, Psalmen und Requien von Mozart, Haydn und Schubert, sowie Duruflé, Mendelssohn, Bach, Saint Saens und vielen anderen mit den unterschiedlichsten Orchestern in Österreich und Deutschland gesungen.
Besonders ans Herz gewachsen sind mir zwei Ensembles, mit denen mich eine lange Zusammenarbeit verbindet- die Company of Music unter Johannes Hiemetsberger sowie das CrossNova Ensemble.
Mit dem CrossNova Ensemble gibt es eine ORF-CD Einspielung mit einer Neuinterpretation der Dichterliebe von Robert Schumann, mit der Company of Music durfte ich L. Bernsteins "Mass" unter der Leitung von Kristjan Järvi mit den NÖ Tonkünstlern auf CD einsingen.
Aktuelle Konzertprogramme sind die "Winter Songs" und "The Wiener Takes It All" mit dem Cross Nova Ensemble, wo ich meine Stimme von Schuberts Winterreise bis hin zu Austropop-Hits in unterschiedlichster Form einsetzen kann.
I've already been on stage in a wide variety of formations - my first "band" was the brass band in my home town, where I was also allowed to perform as a singer at marquee festivals and spring concerts.
At the beginning of my studies, choirs were my first "employer". For several summers I was engaged with the Arnold Schönberg Choir and the Concert Association of the Vienna State Opera Choir at the Salzburg Festival.
Later came my first roles in operas - important roles included Sesto in G.F. Handel's Giulio Cesare and Dido in Henry Purcell's Dido & Aeneas.
I have also often appeared in Contemporary Music Theatre Productions (e.g. "Näherin" in Jury Everhartz's "Das Krokodil", "Dornröschen erwacht" by Tristan Schulze, "Flickschneiderin" in Brabanzio by Lukas Haselböck, "Vor dem Gesetz" by Markus Kupferblum).
In the Oratorio field, I have sung all the usual masses, oratorios, psalms and requiems by Mozart, Haydn and Schubert, as well as Duruflé, Mendelssohn, Bach, Saint Saens and many others with a wide variety of orchestras in Austria and Germany as an alto or soprano 2 soloist.
I have grown particularly fond of two ensembles with whom I have worked together for many years - the Company of Music under the baton of Johannes Hiemetsberger and the CrossNova Ensemble.
With the CrossNova Ensemble there is a recording from the Austrian Broadcasting Service available which contains a new interpretation of Robert Schumann's Dichterliebe (Dichterliebe Reloaded). With the Company of Music I was able to sing and record L. Bernstein's "Mass" under the baton of Kristjan Järvi with the NÖ Tonkünstler.
Current concert programmes include "Winter Songs" and "The Wiener Takes It All" with the Cross Nova Ensemble, where I can use my voice in a wide variety of ways, from Schubert's Winterreise to Austropop hits.
TEACHING
Das Schöne an der Gesangspädagogik ist, dass man immer weiterlernt kann und auch die eigene Gesangstechnik immer mitwachsen kann.
Schon während meines Studiums habe ich Unterricht in Querflöte sowie in Gesang gegeben- der erste feste Vertrag als Gesangspädagogin war an der Musikschule Retz. Danach folgte schnell die Anstellung an der Musikschule Meidling sowie ein langjähriger Lehrauftrag als Mentorin für Lehrpraxis an der MDW Wien.
In meiner Zeit in Deutschland habe ich an der Musikschule in Oberursel sowie in der Musicalschule "StimmDich" in Hofheim gearbeitet, und in Bishkek (Kirgistan) als Musiklehrerin an der Bishkek International School.
Zurück in Wien konnte ich meine Tätigkeit an der Musikschule Meidling wieder aufnehmen sowie ab Oktober 2020 als Senior Lecturer am Antonio Salieri Institut für Gesang und Stimmforschung als Gesangslehrerin einsteigen.
Besonders wichtig in meinem Unterricht sind mir einerseits die Offenheit für alle Stile und das Erlernen einer nachhaltig gesunden Stimmtechnik unter Berücksichtigung der neuesten wissenschaftlichen Kenntnisse über Stimmphysiologie. Gleichzeitig bemühe ich mich stets um "Student centered learning"- kurz gefasst - um den Unterricht auf Augenhöhe, der die Studierenden ins Zentrum des Unterrichts stellt.
The great thing about vocal pedagogy is that I can keep on learning and my own vocal technique and knowledge about the voice is constantly growing as well.
I was already teaching flute and singing during my studies - my first permanent contract as a singing teacher was at the Music School in Retz in Lower Austria. This was quickly followed by a position at the Meidling Music School (Vienna) and a long-term teaching position as a mentor for teaching practice at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna.
During my time in Germany, I worked at the Music School in Oberursel and at the "StimmDich" Musical School in Hofheim, and in Bishkek (Kyrgyzstan) as a music teacher at the Bishkek International School.
Back in Vienna, I was able to resume my work at the Meidling Music School and join the Antonio Salieri Institute for Singing and Voice Research as a Senior Lecturer in October 2020.
On the one hand, openness to all styles and the learning of a sustainably healthy vocal technique, taking into account the latest scientific knowledge about vocal physiology, are particularly important to me in my teaching. On the other hand, I always strive for "Student-Centred Learning" - in short, teaching at eye level that places the student at the centre of the lesson.
